Cutaneous leishmaniasis

• Painless solitary or multiple reddish macules and/or papules around the sandfly bite that increase in size and develop central ulceration

Diagnostics

• Microscopy: macrophages that contain amastigotes
  • Amastigote: round or oval with a peripherally located nucleus
